A disobidient Citizen

ABSTRACT
Epa! Welcome to a city where water’s a luxury, bottled, branded, and sold like a fancy latte. Welcome to my water hacking journey—a small rebellious act in the heart of Barcelona. Do you know that a tiny 0.33L bottle of water in a Spanish restaurant costs about €1.55? If you drank the recommended 2.7–3.7L daily, that’s like nine bottles a day—around €14 daily. Nuts, right? And it's just to stay alive! So I grabbed EL CARRITO (my janky trolley) and LA MOCHILA (my janky backpack) and flipped the script. Picture this: I’m rolling through the streets like a DIY superhero, collecting and filtering water from hidden fountains. My journey ends in the Sierra de Collserola, where locals still fill bottles from a source older than any corporation’s logo. That’s where the real magic of community lives where water still belongs to everyone. Along the way, I decided to hack my sink at home. Enter the Estrella Filter a beer can be reborn as a water filter. No fancy tech, just grit, creativity, and a bit of DIY mischief. Think of it as giving capitalism a playful wedgie—because clean water shouldn’t come with a price tag. In this workshop today, I’ll show you how to build your own filter. It’s easier than assembling IKEA furniture—no hidden screws, just good vibes. Together, we’ll explore how to challenge a system that’s turned a fundamental human right into a luxury product. I’m hacking my water flows because no one should have to pay a small fortune just to stay hydrated. Let’s flip the system together.

This isn’t just about water—it’s about taking back control over what sustains us. Because every time you hack a tap, you’re rewriting the rules. You’re turning a passive consumer into an active citizen. So let’s roll up our sleeves, grab a can, and get creative. The revolution might start with a beer can and a smile."
