Extended was a course based on IA and his application's in the real worlds and/or alternative presents. The course was composed in two parts, the first week was about the theorical part and the second was focused more in its application.
The first week was a collaborative leraning experiece based on a critical approach, where we was able to explored and analyzed our complex systems. Our lessons' flow started from the question: how many is a billion? This question was asked to understand (contestual method) that our society is in a terrible crisis, we create a world based on abstraction's layers (TIME,MONEY,INDUSTRIES,CAPITALISM). This context made a negative design, we have to design in a different way not more as a consumer but as a human: "We are not the center's world!!".
We talked about the intersection between IA and Climate change, because we are interconnected with the reality we have a metabolic relationsheep with the earth, we are affecting our planet with ours social and economic behaviours: "Self and other, here and there, now and then".
"Generative artificial intelligence is a subset of artificial intelligence that uses generative models to produce text, images, videos, or other forms of data. These models often generate output in response to specific prompts. Generative AI systems learn the underlying patterns and structures of their training data, enabling them to create new data." Here a map to have a clear generative IA's definition.
Data has numerous definition, because is a really complex concept. In this course I learned that a data isn't an information, but become an information when is analyzed. Data is a measurement. In class we try to give ours definition about data, I decided to use a methapors for explain my data's vision. "Data is like DNA, all the filament of its have a determinate information that is used by our body. This information are necessery for the life".
Generative IA's earth is LLM, tha is composed by: Neural network, Data set, Training and Model.
NEURAL NETWORK: is like our brain and his neruons. Is a tool based of coding and learn trough the examples
DATA SET: as the core of AI, is what the neural network use for learn about its task. Is a collection of data that explain something in a qulitative and quantitative way. A dataset coull have a lot of biases.
TRAINING: is what the neural network do with all this data, more is trained more it will learn.
MODEL: is the file, the outcome from the training. A solidification data from the past.
Another important part is APi, application programming interface to help different computer communication, is the link between data and the code.
In a solar punk future, a large network of community gardens surround IAAC.The gardens grow fruits and vegetables that the local people may take for free.An AI system monitors the supply of resources:
Mapping available resources based on proximity
Predicting future resource availability to reduce waste or over-harvesting
Providing anticipated nutritional information
Suggesting what and how much each person can take to maintain a balanced supply for ethical and sustainable prosperity
For me was an intense course, it was my firts time that I worked with this topics. I found really interesting the critical and ethical part about the AI, Andres and his days speech were very amazing and ispirational. In class we had a guest, that talked about the time and how this measure could affect us and the way we design. Now, after the speech, I'm able to think in a different way.
Extended Intelligences' pratical part was really intense too, we use for the first time Google Collab (amazing tool but really complex) I tried to learn it but it was too difficult learned it in two days, so I help my group in a different way. Our SYN GARDEN is an amazing project for a future Solar Punk scenario. Our project was based on Multi Agent System, so I learn another systems that would be helpul maybe in future. It was amazing work wuth Lucretia, Mahitili and Ziming.
