The machine paradox was a course about the hacking and the reverse engeenirg. In this, two week, thanks to this design approach: we dissasembled different's elettronical device, take a several documentation about all the component, check wich component still works and after that we try to re-use this component for make an useless machine.

FORENSIC STUDIO (first week)

We choose the Form Labs 1 (3D print SLA)

After that we have conducted a forensic studio, the same things used by detective during their esamination. We understand a lot of things about the Form Labs 1, thanks to ours step during this curios week, wise we understand the programmed obsolescence's paradox.

  • Examination\\ descriptive list of items submitted for examination, including serial number, brand and model

  • Forensic Question\\ understand how the machine works, how it is built and why it failed What does it do ? How does it works ? How it's built ? Why it failed, or it wasn't used anymore?

  • Step taken\\ Cleaned - Dissasembled - Try to start

  • Testing & Experiment\\ We tested if the 3D print works by connecting the machine to a computer. After downloading the software - Pre form - we tried to run a file (3D model)

^_^ REFLECTION ^_^

It were two intense and super amazing weeks, it was my first time get in touch with this design thinking (reverso engeneering and hacking). I see in this methodologies a potential field for reaserch and designin, I hope to improve my skils in this field. Working with Santi, Nico, Josep, Guigliem and Adhai was a real pleasure for: seriousness, calm, experience and, above all their, competence.
